FAVORITE RECORDS OF 2007

MY FAVORITE RECORDS OF 2007.

the legendary shack shakers-swampblood
holy shit this album is freakin awesome! guarenteed to get your boots stompin', this is the rockabilly record of the decade! the guitars on this record are incedible. definetly something to listen to on a road trip, or if you participate in a lot of bar room brawls.

the white stripes- icky thump
im always anxious for their next record. jack white is, in my opinion, a great guitar player who alwasy comes up with interesting riffs and licks and things.

the bouncing souls-the gold record
i always come back to this band. every song they make is very heartfelt and very honest. there were a lot of awesome songs on this one, and it was a little more political than there last couple of records. great american punk rock though.

the apples in stereo-new magnetic wonder
i like this band for a lot of reasons, and indie rock cred ain't one of them. these guys make really pretty songs that actually rock! they're like unbloated, nonembarrassing beach boys. i like a catchy song, and this record has plenty.

the beastie boys-the mix up
first album in years and it was great. great instramentals. what can you really say about these guys, theyre just that creative. i have yet to hear mca's production work on the new bad brains record, but this record was really good.

amy winehouse-back to black
i actually liked this?? yes! whatever you think about this bitch or her hilariously non threatening "bad boy" boyfriend, this chick can sing. all her songs on this record make me want to smoke cigarettes in a bar in new orleans and dance with strange women.

jason lee wilson-high country
this guy can sing. and man is he a nice person! he actually messages you back on myspace! jason's voice is very powerful, like conway twitty meets johnny cash. he does some great love songs too. this was definetly one of the most powerful records i've heard in a while.

ryan adams-easy tiger
welcome back, mr adams!! you finally put something out worth listening to. easy tiger was a return to his alt country roots, and ballad type songs. this record blew me away, i forgot how beautiful ryan adams can be.

queens of the stone age-era vulgaris
they've only made on not so good record, and this aint it. after the disapointing "lullabies to parralyze" the queens return with era vulgaris. huge guitar sounds, a bad ass lead singer, and not a lot of guests or story book type shit. just very, very powerful rock n roll.

black rebel motorcycle club-baby 81
this album is amazing!! they combime all the best stuff about their last two records and cram it all into this baby(81 that is, ha!). there are a lot of guitars on this record and the production is definetly awesome. im not usually a fan of perfectly crafted rock albums, but this one works.

DISHONORABLE MENTION!!!!!

falloutboy-infinity on high, i actually heard this thing in its entirety coming home from lake tahoe and holy shit what a pile of crap!
maroon 5-it wont be soon before long, this is just a really bad joke right??
HIM-venus doom, hahahahahahahahaha bam margera has to be retarded
